The research mission of the reproductive science faculty in the Department of Physiology is to promote broad-based interdisciplinary research in reproductive biology and medicine. Our faculty investigate fundamental issues of male and female fertility at the molecular and cellular level as well as using whole animal approaches. Research interests include development of the genitalia, gonads and reproductive tract, neural and hormonal control of reproductive function, lactation, biological rhythms and temporal control of fertility (including puberty and aging), nutritional effects on reproduction, and the establishment and maintenance of pregnancy.
